Description & Objectives

Continuing Education Hours: 1 CE for LPC, SW, LMFT, and Psychologists - NBCC Approved

Description: Violence against women leaves behind more than physical wounds—it creates invisible burdens that ripple through homes, classrooms, and workplaces. In higher education, those effects often surface quietly among survivors, students, faculty, and staff who carry the emotional weight of trauma, grief, and burnout while striving to meet daily demands. This presentation explores how unaddressed trauma connected to violence against women affects children, families, and professionals across academic communities. Grounded in trauma-informed and resilience-building principles, the session offers a holistic framework for understanding the interconnected impact of violence, loss, and compassion fatigue. Through case studies, storytelling, and role-based discussions, participants will examine how grief and trauma manifest in academic behavior, decision-making, and workplace culture.
