Description & Objectives

Continuing Education Hours: 1 CE for LPC, SW, LMFT, and Psychologists - NBCC Approved

DescriptionIn today’s overstimulated world, helping professionals face constant emotional demands, multitasking pressures, and a growing sense of internal noise. This workshop provides a grounded, trauma-informed introduction to mindfulness and somatic awareness designed specifically for busy clinicians and frontline professionals. Participants will explore how chronic stress, compassion fatigue, and secondary trauma impact the nervous system—and learn how to use simple, evidence-based tools to return to presence between sessions. Through a blend of psychoeducation, experiential exercises, and reflection, attendees will practice embodied mindfulness techniques they can use both personally and clinically. Drawing from neuroscience, trauma-informed care, and holistic wellness, this session offers a realistic path to sustainable self-care and deeper therapeutic connection. Participants will leave with tools to calm the body, refocus the mind, and restore balance—without needing an hour-long meditation break in their day. Key takeaways include body-based grounding, quick reset strategies, and principles for integrating mindfulness seamlessly into clinical practice and supervision settings.

  • Describe the neurobiological link between chronic stress, trauma, and practitioner burnout.
  • Identify signs of dysregulation and fatigue in themselves and clients.
  • Demonstrate at least 3 mindfulness or somatic grounding practices adaptable for use during sessions.
