Description: This presentation will cover aspects of sexual abuse trauma, female gender roles, and same gender abuse dynamics demonstrated with multigeneration/family sexual abuse. These subtle understandings will be incorporated into many aspects of working with female survivors and female offenders on The Road to Resiliency. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe dynamics of multigeneration/family sexual abuse.
  • Identify Female gender roles that perpetuate multigeneration/family sexual abuse. 
  • Discuss facets of same gender sexual abuse within multigenerations/family. 
  • Apply these subtle understandings in working with Female offenders and Female survivors on The Road to Resiliency.

Instructor

Kathleen Davis

Kathleen Davis has a long, multidisciplinary history in counseling, case management, nursing, palliative care, hospice, drug rehabilitation, and more! Ms. Davis’ counseling work applies trauma-informed techniques, art therapy, and ‘inner child’ focus tools while working with survivors of childhood trauma and sexual abuse. In 2021, she published her book Outcry Response: What Educators Need to Know About Sexual Abuse. She has also created other community resources, workbooks, and curricula for professionals and survivors of violence.
