  • Describe Family/Domestic/Intimate Partner violence and the associated impacts of abuse on the victim/survivor 

  • Discuss how IPV can affect parenting, child development, and children’s ability to learn. 

  • Identify risk factors to consider in assessment of families.

MSSW, LCSW-S Derrelynn Perryman

Derrelynn Perryman, MSSW, LCSW-S, is a Clinical Social Worker in private practice working with trauma survivors and first responders. She is also a long-time victim advocate who has worked in law enforcement, prosecution, corrections, and non-profit agencies with survivors of trauma. She is adjunct faculty at UT Arlington and Texas Christian University, a licensed TCOLE instructor and Approved CISM instructor. She is a former President of the Texas Victim Services Association. In 2015 the Governor appointed her to the Texas Board of Criminal Justice where she is now serving a second term and is Vice Chair.
